Do you really know what you are really eating?

Do you know for sure what you are eating?

Is there enough good food in Calgary to feed all of us? Did you know that most of our food comes from corn? Are you concerned about rising food prices?

Join us for a four-week book study and discussion series and get to know your food.

At these sessions we’ll explore the big picture behind food.  We’ll take four meals and trace the origin of the food and its ingredients. And we’ll explore where our involvement can make a difference.

Dates: Four Wednesday nights, May 11, 18, 25, and June 1, 2016

Time:  7:30 pm to 9 pm

Place:  St. Laurence Anglican Church

            5940 Lakeview Dr.

            Calgary AB     T3E 5S8

The participants are asked to read the book The Omnivore’s Dilemma by Michael Pollan as this

book will be used for our discussions.  Please read the first section of the book for the first session on May 11th.

The sessions are led by Elizabeth McLennan, St. Laurence Food Security Group, and Sue Scott, retired U of A professor.   You may register for the course at knowyourfood22@gmail.com .  The Calgary public library, book stores, Amazon.com and other on-line retailers have this book available.

Sponsored by the Wisdom Centre and St. Laurence Food Security Group.
